To start my blog, I wanted to share a photo taken on Franklin Island in Georgian Bay near the town of Parry Sound Ontario. I had the opportunity to be flown to Franklin island by float plane piloted by Georgian Bay Airlines. I was expecting a completely isolated island but was surprised to find an older married couple drove their motor boat to the island for a picnic and brought their kayaks to ride around the island.
The orange and green kayaks on a sandy beach add a great splash of colour against a beautiful blue sky and clear waters of Georgian Bay.
I was only worried about keeping the kayaks and motor boat in focus, so I chose an aperture of f/6.4 and with such a sunny day, it was easy to leave the ISO as low as my camera would go.
Feel free to comment and leave feedback on this photograph or thoughts on how I could have improved this shot.
